Purpose

The Soy Aquaculture Alliance is dedicated to expanding the use of U.S.-grown soybeans in domestic aquaculture diets. Soybeans and fish may seem unlikely partners, but bringing the land and sea together offers major opportunities for both. SAA supports research, promotion and collaboration that build this partnership.

Strategy

As we look to bring our mission to life, we are focused on key areas to support this dual growth:

  • Research-driven understanding of opportunities and challenges

  • Convening collaboration among feed companies, aquaculture producers, and soybean farmers

  • Ultimately increasing the utilization of U.S. soybeans in aquaculture diets

Vision

Vision

Soy-fed aquaculture opens unprecedented opportunities to:

  • Feed a growing population with the most feed-efficient, farm-raised protein

  • Build a lucrative domestic market for fish growers and soybean farmers alike

Mission

Mission

From the inception of the Soy Aquaculture Alliance, our mission has been about one thing: Growing two industries side-by-side by feeding opportunity. Through the expansion of aquaculture, the soybean industry is also bolstered. The terrestrial livestock use of soybeans has always been an important segment of the soybean farmer’s market. Our founders believed that supporting burgeoning other markets equates to larger possibilities for a stronger soybean return.

Members

SAA membership is open to public and private organizations in the soy, aquaculture and seafood, and affiliated industries. SAA’s efforts are yielding new collaborations and funding groundbreaking research. We welcome your participation and membership.
